Professor Hans - "Execution Modeling"
Expand your Top 10 must-do or die activities!
Congratulations on finishing up your top 10 must-do or die activities!
Now you get to expand your top 10 activities from the team modeling section to at least 20 activities.
More if you're able, complete with who on your team can credibly do that work.
And then put it on a timeline or get chart, lucky you when does each activity start and stop.
Who is responsible? What are the associated costs?
A gas chart is a chart in which a series of horizontal lines shows the amount of work to be done or production to be completed in certain periods of time including costs for the work and production.
If you have a blank spreadsheet then;
Column A you might list the activities to be done then.
Column B you might list the expected duration in days.
Column C write the start time.
Column D write the end time.
Column E who is assigned to make sure that this happens.
Column F the amount of money you expect it to cost.
Then in the columns that follow you might have a range of months and mark the start and stop possibly in multicolored bands of cells, say;
Black is planned,
Green is progressing normally,
Red is stopped for some reason.
And add a note about why and potential impacts on other activities, and so on and so forth you understand.
Our experience is that most people struggle with this activity.
They can't think of what activities matter most or they can't be more specific than raise money or finished product.
But you gotta think in more detail than a bucket of what needs to be accomplished
Be specific about what actions must be taken or people will sit around and do things generally and not specifically.
