Professor Hans - "Offer Modeling"
What to Offer?
Now that you have established an intention for what your company's big picture is.
You need to give some practical clarity about what you are offering to your customer.
Too often entrepreneurs and even big companies simply engineer and build without actually planning out what and why they are doing what they're doing.
Only to realize after a lot of time and money that they probably should have planned better. So give some meaningful forward thinking to what you believe that your product or service is actually offering.
Right now focus on your future customers' pain.
For example company x's primary product is a transport vehicle in a beam of light, that can transport you from any location in the galaxy to another.
So take the allotted time and write what you plan to offer your market and your customers.
What is it that they'll be buying from you? Give as much detail about the features as you can, both standards, and differentiated products, and services that you are able to.
A standard offering might be the cost. The same cost as a first-class ticket from Hong Kong to London. Quality, comfort guaranteed, safety ensured, and time for orders of magnitude faster than the speed of light.
That's pretty fast, given more time we should also do a SWOT, that's S-W-O-T.
Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats which is important so that you can practically and productively inventory what you have in your favor and what might harm you.
Think about a SWOT in actionable terms, what is done, and what can be done.
What you really should do when you have more time is to author a document called an MRD.
Market Requirements Document - that would look both at your market identifying and need, and looking at your ability to meaningfully address that need.
In the time that we have right now, you need to think in core messages that matter the most.
